Again, Accident Kills One in Anambra

At least one person has died in a recent fatal crash in Anambra State, SRC Florence Edor, the Public Relations Officer, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State Command, said.
According to her, in a statement issued to newsmen, the fatal crash occurred on Saturday, April 10, by St Joseph Catholic Church Akwaeze in Anaocha Local Government Area of Anambra State.
The statement reads, "A fatal traffic crash happened today 10th April, 2021 by St Joseph Catholic Church akwaeze in Aniocha local government area of Anambra State, at about 1235 hrs.
"The crash happened between unidentified driver of Mercedes Benz 911 Truck with registration number KPP 273 XD and an unidentified rider of Kymco Motorcycle with registration number AKL172QN.
"Eyewitness report indicates that the crash was caused by speeding and wrongful overtaking. The motorcycle rider while speeding and overtaking the truck was crushed by the truck driver.
"Two male adults were involved in the crash, the motorcycle rider was taken to St Joseph hospital by FRSC rescue team from Igboukwu Command and was confirmed dead by the doctor on duty. His body has been deposited at the morgue."
Reacting, the Sector Commander of FRSC in Anambra State State* CC Andrew A Kumapayi FHNR sends his condolence to the deasesed's family,
He warned motorcycle riders to avoid unnecessary speeding and overtaking which usually lead to crash.
"They should always be on their safety helmet, as an exposed road users, to protect them from head injury when crash occurs," he added.
