Anambra 2021: Why Azuka Okwuosa Should Fly APC Ticket — Party Chieftain

By Izunna Okafor

As the search for next Governor of Anambra State intensifies, a Chieftain of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Anambra State, Mr. Chris Obuekwe has described Chief Azuka Okwuosa as a none-controversial man without baggages that would effectively fly the party’s ticket to victory in the November governorship election in the state.

Obuekwe disclosed this to   journalists in Awka, Anambra state capital, where he also advised the APC members to ensure that they give their ticket to somebody who will be accepted by the party and the entire Anambra people.

He said Okwuosa had the quality that APC needs to win the governorship election in the state come November 6, 2021. According to him, APC is not the only party eyeing the government house and must be careful not to give its ticket to somebody who will be rejected by the general public.

His word: “APC must not give its ticket to a controversial person or person with baggages. We need somebody like Azuka Okwuosa with clean records right from his time at local government to the time he was commissioner of works in the state.

"He does not carry any baggages and he is the best the party can put forward for the governorship election now."

According to him, Okwuosa is a principled person who does what he preaches and had replicated it in various positions he held while in government.

“Okwuosa resigned from former Governor Mbadinuju's government, when the governor reneged in giving the people of Anambra state the best. He did that to maintain his belief as a person, despite the spoil of office,” he said .

Obuekwe said that Okwuosa’s mission statement captures the most challenges Anambra people are facing, having taken time to study them, adding that “He will transend the state into greater height, giving his antecedent."

Speaking further, he revealed that Okwuosa had not disappointed in his political career and will not disappoint as a governor. Obuekwe said that Okwuosa had headed many conflict resolution committees that brought peace in the Anambra APC, noting that the confidence the Party gave to him to reconcile aggrieved members was an added advantage to him as a faithful party member.

He also described Okwuosa as servant leader who wants to bring the wealth of his business and political experience to bears in Anambra state governance.
