Akpo (Aguata LGA), June 9, 2020 (MOI) Member representing, Aguata 1, Anambra State House of Assembly, Dr Cater Umeh, has doled out second phase of palliatives to his constituency.

The palliatives include 20 bags of 10kg rice, 20 bags of 10kg beans, 20 cartons of Noodles and 50 tubers of yams.

He also gave out 100 face masks to each of the political wards of communities in Aguata 1 Constituency, numbering 900.

Five communities that benefitted from the gesture include Achina, Umuchu, Uga, Akpo, Nkpologwu and Amesi.

``It is important to note that Dr Umeh extended the palliatives to communities in his constituency on April 8.’’

At Akpo the items were handed over to the Vice-President General (VPG), Akpo Development Association, Mr Christopher Okpalobi at Amaife Village Hall by the benefactor.

``My mission here is to share in the sufferings emanating from Coronavirus pandemic.

``COVID-19 has caused hunger to the indigent people, people with disabilities, widows, widowers and orphans; they must be considered first in the sharing of the items.

He urged the people to always observe the standard directives in checking the spread of COVID-19.

``Wash your hands thoroughly and regularly with soap under running water; sanitise your hands always, where water is not available, put on your face mask as you go out.

``Avoid crowded places while observing physical distancing always. The measures are not punishment to anybody but the only way to stay alive and tell stories of this Coronavirus pandemic,’’ Mr Okpalaobi admonished.

The VPG, then, thanked Dr Umeh for quality representation of his constituency in the state house.

He prayed God to reward him abundantly, promising to share the items to the targeted group of people.

Beneficiaries, Franca Ezeonyido and Theresa Ezeobi, who spoke on behalf of others, expressed relief, praying God to bless the benefactor and keep him in good health for more love and care.

Other people at the occasion include Mrs Faith Okpala who represented Akpo Woman Leader, Mrs Eucharia Dim, Representative of Akpo Youth, Peter Sopulu and Transition Committee Member, Akpo,
