The Siere Foundation Hosts First Piano Contest In Anambra

It was a blend of melody and comedy over the weekend, as The Siere Foundation hosted the first piano playing competition in Anambra State.

Tagged 'How Well Can You Play (A Search for Anambra Best Pianist 2020)', the well-attended event which held in Awka, the Anambra State Capital, attracted great personalities, drawn from both the entertainment and the music worlds, as well as top government functionaries, among other dignitaries.

Speaking at the occasion, the convener of event, who is also the host of the competition and founder of The Siere Foundation, Barr. Anthony Kelechi Agbasiere said the maiden event was aimed at discovering and rewarding hidden and amazing talents among the youths, while also supporting and developing the youths in general.

Barr. Agbasiere who is also a quintessential philanthropist and legal luminary appreciated those who contributed to the success of the event, and promised to sustain and expand the event in subsequent years, owing to the great positive impacts of such healthy competition among the youths and its importance for societal development at large.

Receiving an award at the event, the Commissioner for Lands in Anambra State, Mr. Bonaventure Enemali who recounted some of his achievements and contributions in youth development in the State during his tenure as Commissioner for Youth Empowerment and Creative Economy, described the initiative as a welcome development, and appreciated the Host, for identifying with the youths.

In their separate remarks at the event, the Chairman/CEO of the GSS Group, Arc. Chukwudi Ezenwa, and the MD/CEO of Oma Event Centre and X-Fit, Chief Ndubuisi Onwuakpa, both of whom were also honoured with awards for employing and always supporting great number of youths, noted that importance of youths and youth development in every society can never be overemphasized. 

They further lauded Barr. Agbasiere and The Siere Foundation for the wonderful initiative, urging him to sustain the beat for greater impacts.

Aside the Piano Competition in which Pianist Alex Ugwu took the First Position with monetary prize of N100,000, the event also featured musical performances/renditions, as well as comedy from various groups and individuals, including Humble Smith, Chief Imo, Prince Neche, Yanbaba, among others.
